Many people hear “test” and think of an exam. That is exactly what it is not.
If something is difficult for you during the test, if you cannot find a button or cannot open a package, that is not your mistake. It is exactly the result we invited you for. Our clients then continue to develop their product on that basis. This only works if we see where difficulties arise.
You do not need to prepare. You do not need to know anything or be able to do anything. You only need to tell us honestly how the product works for you.
Products are used by people with very different physical characteristics, experiences and habits. In development, these differences often get too little attention. That is exactly where the problems arise that later become apparent in everyday life.
That is why these perspectives are particularly important to us:

What exactly is involved depends on the project. The invitation always tells you in advance what it is about.
In a test lab. A dedicated room in which we carry out product tests under realistic conditions. Often this is our own lab in Stuttgart, but depending on the project the session may also take place elsewhere. The exact location is always stated in the invitation.
In your home. Some products can only be tested meaningfully where they will later be used.
Online, from home. A video call for which you only need a computer, tablet or smartphone.
In writing. Sometimes a questionnaire is enough.
How long a session takes depends on the study and is stated in the invitation. We reimburse travel costs to on-site sessions with a flat-rate travel allowance.
Free, without obligation and revocable at any time. We only get in touch if a study suits you. What a participation pays differs from study to study and is always stated in advance in the invitation.
The form asks for more than an email address. That is intentional: it is the only way we can invite you specifically to suitable studies instead of choosing at random. If, for example, a study on a particular assistive device is running, we look for people who actually use it in everyday life.

No. We do not carry out clinical trials and we do not test medicines. Our work is about whether a device, an assistive product or a package can be used easily and safely.
This varies considerably from study to study. It depends on how much time the participation takes and how specific the experience is that the study is looking for. The amount of the compensation is always stated in the invitation before you accept. We also reimburse travel costs to on-site sessions with a flat-rate allowance.
No. Registration and participation are free of charge. You do not have to buy or subscribe to anything.
Only when a study suits you. How often that happens depends on which projects are currently running. It may be several times a year, or there may be none for a longer period.
Because height, sex and handedness influence how easy a product is to use in everyday life. Whether someone is right- or left-handed, what sex they are or how tall they are affects the handling of medical devices, assistive products and everyday appliances. With this information we can invite you specifically to suitable studies instead of choosing at random.
We use it exclusively to match you with suitable studies. We do not pass your panel data on to our clients; clients only receive the results of the study. If you take part in a specific study, a separate consent applies to it. It defines in advance which data is passed on to the client. You can request deletion at any time.
In some studies we record how a product is used. We always explain this to you in advance, and you only give your consent at the session itself. Nothing is recorded without your consent.

No. Every invitation is without obligation. You can decline without giving reasons; this has no effect on future invitations.
Yes, that is always possible. The closer the session gets, the harder it is for us to find a replacement in time. So please let us know as early as possible if a session no longer suits you.
You will only receive invitations through the contact channels we specify, in particular from studien@use-ing.de. We never ask for payment and never ask you to buy a product.
